Abstract

The article investigates the most important features of the architecture of Astrakhan mosques built in the XIX - early XX century. The authors argue that they are an example of the all-Russian style and volumetric-compositional trend that existed in the pre-revolutionary Russian architecture. The consideration of the volumetric-compositional, style and decorative components of a number of historical mosques makes it possible to reveal the most typical historical-style features in the appearance of the presented architectural objects and to make certain contribution to the formation of the overall picture of Astrakhan architecture development.
