Abstract

A signal acquisition scheme for a Walsh - Hadamard (WH) code-based orthogonal modulation signal is proposed for the application to the satellite navigation signals. The proposed scheme is a correlator that takes the advantage of the Fast Walsh - Hadamard Transform (FWHT) structure for the symbol demodulation of WH code. The proposed method’s signal acquisition performance is simulated in terms of false alarm probability and missing probability, and it is confirmed that a performance improvement of more than 1 dB can be achieved over the conventional LEX signal in the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel.
