Abstract

Abstract: This paper makes a comparative textual research on three aspects of pictogram, phonogram and ideogram of Chinese character Qie(且) and Zu(祖). We discovered that the pyramid of Sumer and ancient Egypt is the pictographic prototype of the Chinese character Qie(且). The combination of two hieroglyphs of chisel and pyramid in ancient Egypt is the literal prototype of the Chinese character Zu(祖) , which has the meaning of ancestor. This paper also reveals the difference between Qie(且) and Zu(祖). This research shows there is a correlated relationship between Chinese Cathaysian ancestors and ancient Egypt.
