Abstract

A taxonomic composition of the genus Oxytropis DC. section Polyadena Bunge (Fabaceae Lindl.) in Baikal Siberia was critically analysed. The «forgotten» species O. bargusinica Korotky was separated from O. glandulosa Turcz. and reinstated as a distinct one. An endemic of the Barguzinsky Ridge, O. interposita Sipl. previously considered in the section Verticillares DC., is transferred to the section Polyadena; its new variety O. interposita var. lilacina Chimitov is described. The taxonomic status of O. stukowii Palib. and O. varlakovii Serg., both described from Eastern Transbaikalia, has been revised. Both are proposed to be treated as subspecies within more widespread O. microphylla (Pall.) DC. and O. muricata (Pall.) DC., respectively. The names O. bargusinica, O. varlakovii (lectotype II), O. glandulosa, and O. stukowii are typified (the lectotypes of the latter two are designated here by V. V. Byalt). As a result, 7 taxa of specific and subspecific rank in the section Polyadena are distinguished in the flora of the Baikal Siberia.
