Abstract

The aim of the study is to identify the features of the functioning of the German proverb ‘Ohne Fleiß kein Preis’ in the electronic communication system of Germany, Austria, Switzerland. The theoretical part of the paper describes the specifics of the linguistic aspect of virtual communication, which has replaced the traditional one with its own language laws and rules; as well as the role and place of the paremiological stock in the new system. In the second part, the examples are given and the purposes of using the German proverb in articles, posts, and messages on the sites of the German-speaking Internet space are indicated. The scientific novelty of the study lies in carrying out a comprehensive analysis of the communicative-pragmatic potential of the proverb on the Internet and its functioning in this system for successful communication. As a result of the study, it is on the online platforms of German-speaking companies and taking into account the communicative situation influencing the choice of linguistic means when implementing the author’s intention that the functional features of the German proverb ‘Ohne Fleiß kein Preis’ have been identified and described for the first time. In addition, statistical data and examples of the use of the paroemia in the German-speaking information and business space have been presented.
