Abstract

During the transmission of digital telecommunication signals, great importance is attached to the detection of errors in the line, which is important both in terms of line control and their subsequent correction. Error detection issues in EP-1-line code are discussed. It has been shown that the traditional method of error detection in code can detect all errors, but it fails to determine the damaged time slot (localization of errors), which makes impossible further correction of errors. An error localization method is proposed, which is based on detection of restricted combinations within four adjacent time slots. It is shown that such approach makes possible to localize errors with a probability of ≈0,7, which creates preconditions for their correction with certain probability.
