Abstract

This paper presents results adding ions Al3+ into structure of Li-Mn spinel with composition Li1,33Mn1,67O4. It has been established that doping with Al3+ ions leads to a noticeable increase in the specific surface area by 1,9–7,6 times and the increase of the pore volume by 9,5 times by comparison no doped spinel. Using scanning electron microscopy, it was proved that an increase in the concentration of introduced Al3+ ions is accompanied by a differentiation of two types of particles in shape, while the shape of large bulk agglomerates resembles a lamellar one.
