Abstract

This study proposes a system of content categories in Korean grammatical education. ‘Reinterpretation of the contents system’ and ‘re-selection of education contents’ are the major suggestions.BR The review methods and results are as follows: First, the trend of ‘Content Category’ was considered, which was observed from the 4th Korean language education curriculum to the 2015 revised Korean curriculum. Second, three issues were identified. The three issues are the ‘question of relationship between the categories’, ‘problems of parallel placement between the categories’, and ‘the problem of the handling of the ‘floating categories’. Third, two directions of organizing the content category have been identified. One is how to integrate language formats and content. In other words, a method was required to link the formal and practical aspects of the grammar unit of the Korean language. The other was called for a new method of selecting the content of education.BR Based on the above discussion, a reinterpretation of the contents system has been performed. The reinterpretation comprises three categories: Each category has a process-disease relationship that provides independence and connectivity for each category. Reinterpretation of the contents system has the effect of clarifying the exploration activities and connectivity with language functional areas was considered. Next, the re-selection of education contents was attempted. This attempt is complementary to a reinterpretation of the context. The re-selected content includes the principles and processes of the Korean language phenomenon.
