Abstract

This paper studies lingo- cultural code in modern linguistic studies. The research reviews the available literature on the topic; it outlines the academic definitions of the term “lingo cultural code”. The paper highlights the features of lingo-cultural code in Culture Studies, Semiotics and Lingo-culture Studies. Lingo-cultural code is the complex set of symbolism, likeness and signification. It is represented by metaphors, metonymy, idioms, etc. The research uses the linguistic classification of lingo-cultural code proposed by the Russian scholars as V.A. Maslova and M.V. Pimenova. It analyzes the lingo-cultural codes of Kyrgyz. The research data selected randomly from different sources.
