Abstract
要介護者の負担軽減のための支援機器は数多く開発・市販されている, ここでは, 特に痴呆高齢者の介護負担を軽減する機器について述べる. 痴呆高齢者の転倒・転落防止, 俳徊や問題行動を防ぐ癒しのための支援機器, 要介護者と介護者のコミュニケーションを支援する擬似会話システムについて解説する.高齢者介護のための支援機器の役割は, 介護者の快適化・省力化, 労働の省力化, 施設における人件費の抑制, 介護者・要介護者のQOLの向上などがあげられる. 支援機器の普及, 開発は, 主として介護保険貸与対象品目を中心に盛んに行われている. さらにロボット技術を応用した支援機器も散見される. ここでは, 痴呆高齢者に対する介護者の負担軽減のための支援機器について述べる. 痴呆高齢者のQOLの向上は, すなわち, 介護者のQOLにもつながる. われわれの研究をもとに, 転倒転落の防止, 俳徊防止, 癒し, コミュニケーション支援などをとりあげ, 現状を紹介する.
