Abstract

When the Korean church has lost public trust and the possibility of evangelism decreases, there are lessons to be learned from the church renewal movement's history such as Believers’ Church, Protestant Monasticism, and Radical Christian Community. They pursued life not by living on tradition and doctrine but by faith. Through various challenges such as the monastic movement’s spirituality, the reinterpretation of the sacrament, and laymen’s preaching, they continued to agonize and sometimes struggle to practice a faithfully biblical life. In a world where individualism prevails, we must regain our identity as Christ’s body church and spirituality to guide seekers to the Gospel. “The reformed church must always be reformed” is currently valid for the Korean churches.
