Abstract

The article is devoted to the complex and multidimensional theme of the urban environment vitality in the totality of its manifestations. Today’s space of life, being populated, and sometimes overpopulated, often loses a living connection with the world of feelings and thoughts of a person. In this regard, working with the concept of the vital in the environment can provide the key to the return of the desired connections and vital currents in the professional field of the architect, artist, designer creativity. The possible carriers of the vital in traits are recorded: society, history, nature, architecture itself. The author of the article offers to see and understand the basic foundations and several essential components of environmental vitality, recorded in the four theses: - vital architecture of maximum emotional charge; - everyday and event-based living of spatial scenarios by a person; - extension of environmental realities into the realm of memory and imagination; - integral vitality of the modern historical city. A number of ideas are proposed that mediate the movement towards the vital in the high meaning of the true living principle in the architectural environment. In the professional field, this is facilitated by an understanding of the creative concept as a full-fledged living prototype of the work of art, as well as attention to the social activation of the place. At the same time, a certain level of preparedness and responsiveness, expressed by “environmental” empathy, is required on the part of the addressee. The holistic architectural environment must be ready for the birth of the “ecstatic” space and its individual elements.
