Abstract

As SF6 gas, which is widely used as an insulating material, is limited in use due to environmental factors, researches on eco-friendly insulating materials apply to existing power facilities have actively been conducted. In order to apply for designing power equipment using eco-friendly insulating materials, the insulation breakdown voltage according to the pressure of the manufacturing air and the radius of curvature of the rod-shaped electrode, which is a quasi-equal electric field, was measured and analyzed. As a result, it was confirmed that the breakdown voltage was determined according to the electric field concentration on the surface of the rod-shaped electrode as the radius of curvature of the rod-shaped electrode increased. In addition, the breakdown characteristics of the manufactured air depend on the electric field concentrated on the electrode and the generation of electrons under the electrode. The results of this paper can be used when designing electrical equipment using eco-friendly insulation materials as insulation materials.
