Abstract

Eight γ-glutamyl derivatives, including six sulfur-containing peptides, were identified in bulbs of Allium bakeri (Rakkyo). All were known com-pounds. Two of them N, N'-bis-γ-glutamylcystine and γ-glutamyl-S-methylcysteine were tested for antibacterial and insecticidal activity, but they failed to show any significant activity.
