Abstract

In 1969, the legal terminology revision project was launched for localization, and the scope of the project has been expanded to Japanese terms and sentence components since 2006. Based on these efforts, the “Easy-to-Understand Law” examination system was formalized in 2007.
The aspect of the revision can be considered diachronically by comparing the changes in the past versions of the <Albeop>. In particular, it is possible to capture the recent trend of terminology maintenance through analyzing 50 Japanese terms selected in 2020. Also, it is necessary to be more careful in selecting the terminology to prevent confusion under the situation of frequent law amendment.
As a result of reviewing the terminology maintenance process, it is concluded that the revision of Japanese legal terminology led to the development of democracy from the representative political ideology of breaking away from Japan's influence.
