Abstract

The paper presents a research on the origins of personal names of Roma of primary school age in the territory of Vranje. The anthroponymic category of personal name was taken for analysis; a total of 76 feminomins and 73 musculonims. The goals of the research are to present the nouns of the Roma national minority, to determine which layer they belong to (cataloging), as well as to review the sociolinguistic influences that were performed during the assimilation of the population. The anthroponymic fund of a nation is considered one of the important manifestations of cultural-linguistic correlations and adaptations, so it is necessary to study this segment of linguistics as well. During the research, methods of excerpt, classification, induction and synthesis with statistical analysis and graphical representations were used. The hypothesis set at the beginning of the research according to which the personal names of Roma were created due to the direct influence of the majority population proved to be correct, so in this area we can talk about socio-cultural and territorial influences within the Romani anthroponymic fund. Keywords: antoponymy, Roma, personal name, sociolinguistics, anthroponomasticon, Vranje.
