Abstract
모든 나라에서 국가도서관을 위한 법정 납본은 자국에서 생산된 오프라인 및 온라인 출판물을 수집하는데 있어서 가장 중요한 장서개발 수단이다. 그러나 현재 국립중앙도서관은 취약한 납본시스템으로 인하여 국내에서 생산․제작된 모든 유용한 자료를 수집하는데 한계를 보이고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 법정 납본에 근거한 국립중앙도서관 장서개발의 현주소를 분석하고 연간 발행․제작되는 출판물의 총량을 추정한 다음에 이를 근거로 납본수집력 강화방안, 즉 가칭 ‘납본법’ 제정을 비롯한 납본규정(지침, 기준)의 추가 개발과 보완, 도서관법상의 납본조항 및 내용 개정, 납본수집 대상자료의 합리적 유형화, 자료유형별 납본수집 범위의 최적화 전략을 제안하였다.
