Abstract

We are faced with a tragic incident in which a huge conflict such as terrorism, refugee issues and economic imbalances erupt around the world. Our society is no exception. In this sense, it is 'cultural diversity' that is considered an alternative to resolving conflicts. Cultural diversity has become an important direction in contemporary cultural policy because it is a value concept introduced by the contemporary demands. Cultural diversity means recognizing cultural differences. Cultural diversity reject cultural uniformity led by the majority. This is to achieve coexistence between different cultures by admitting differences. UNESCO defined that culture should be regarded as the set of distinctive spiritual, material, intellectual and emotional features of society or a social group, and that it encompasses, in addition to art and literature, lifestyles, ways of living together, value systems, traditions and beliefs. The Declaration of Cultural Diversity stated that "In our increasingly diverse societies, it is essential to ensure harmonious interaction among people and groups with plural, varied and dynamic cultural identities as well as their willingness to live together." The declaration stated that admitting the various differences among social members constitutes social integration and requires a 'tolerance' for practice. This paper conduct a study on the cultural diversity reflected in Youths theater. The four plays in this paper is a korean creative plays. This plays were free from prejudice to adolescents and expanded his practical understanding. And criticize discrimination against minority culture. Desirable Teenager and XXL Leotard Annasui Hand mirror reveal the same recognition. This plays criticizes the disgust of minority cultures such as sexual minority figures and outcast. Emphasize the importance of understanding differences and solidarity. And The Blue Nation warns of the dangers of a uniform community. Loners emphasize the coexistence of various cultures. Both of the works emphasize the importance of tolerance. These works criticize society in which majority cultures discriminate against and detest minority cultures. It presents a life that coexists with the practice of tolerance. In this regard, cultural diversity is revealed.
