Abstract

Several dozens of Ramesside hieratic inscriptions written on undressed building limestone blocks have been found at Abusir site during recent excavations by the Egyptian Culture Center of Waseda University, Tokyo. The most striking feature of these short texts or notes is that the terms "wnmy (the right side)" and "smhy (the left side)" are used, eing similar to a labor system at Theban necropolis. It is presumed that the inscriptions should supply information about the building process and the organization of ancient builders at this construction site.
