Abstract

The ongoing digitalization of work processes creates both opportunities and risks for companies. The development of new forms of work sets new tasks and, above all, personnel management. In the third decade of the 21st century, most companies have virtual teamwork, the use of which allows you to take advantage of digitalization (cooperate regardless of location and time zones, reduce travel and office maintenance costs, train employees in new skills, etc.). On the other hand, distributed teams are subject to risks such as increased conflict potential due to impersonal communication, improper role allocation and a large physical distance between team members. Most remote teams do not perform well in practice due to a lack of confidence, which negatively affects motivation to work. Therefore, it is very important to pay increased attention to the critical variable in the success of a virtual team — employee motivation. The article examines the question of which factors, both positive and negative, affect the motivation of members of virtual teams and offers recommendations for improving it.
