Abstract
This report gives a brief description on 252Cf contamination accident at Institute for Nuclear Study, University of Tokyo in May, 1980. The procedure of emergent decontamination and radioactivity detection is explained, together with the root cause of this accident happening. The various improvements performed to prevent the subsequent accident are summarized and several important suggestions to the radiation management revealed by this accident are discussed at the end.
