Abstract

Ethnographic artifacts in the life of modern society are represented not only in museum exhibitions. National elements are used in modern products. Original artifacts or similar copies are on display in “Vernissage” of Yerevan, in the interiors of restaurants, hotels, and offices. At the same time, the interpretation of artifacts and elements of traditional culture is carried out in accordance with their transformation of meaning, over time and market requirements. In the article the types of presentation of ethnographic artifacts in various non-museum places are distinguished, which are significantly different from the approaches of traditional museology. The dangers that exist in this kind of presentation of cultural heritage elements are also revealed.
