Abstract
The study attempts to review and characterize regional encyclopedias publications of Poltava region. It is concluded that such publications are a valuable achievement of the spiritual and humanitarian development of the region, a means of storing knowledge about the past and the modern life of a small territory, about the history and culture of the Poltava region.
