Abstract

This article presents historical information about the course, clinical manifestations and treatment of the wound of the Red Army Commander General Nikolai Fyodorovich Vatutin. After being wounded by gunshot, the General developed an anaerobic infection. Despite all the efforts of experienced surgeons, their actions did not help to overcome this seemingly non-fatal wound.
