Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the current status of smart construction technology, relevant domestic and foreign research, market trends, and practical application. The development direction of domestic smart construction technology is also investigated. For the analysis of the overseas smart construction industry, VOS viewer was used to generate information on the relationship of and trends in overseas smart construction studies through keyword correlation analysis and clustering. The construction industry is facing various challenges such as the need to improve productivity and the need to address key issues including shortage and aging of specialized workforce, increasing number of old buildings, and changes in the environment. To resolve these issues, the industry is actively introducing smart construction technologies such as BIM, AI, VR, AR, and robots. It is also important to develop smart construction technology as a high-value-added business, especially when the future of the real estate construction industry is taken into account. This can be achieved by taking advantage of the company’s active technological development and the government's supportive policies towards smart construction.
