Abstract

The article offers an overview of the interpretations of the concept of «thinking». A fundamentally new, contextual, form of the definition of the concept of «thinking» is considered. A vector model of generic definition is introduced. Using it, an analysis of the «measure of proximity» of generic definitions of thinking is proposed. For this, generic definitions and certain types of specific parts of the considered definitions are singled out and considered separately. In addition, a negative trend in changing the interpretation of the concept of «thinking» was stated. Thus, the considered generic definitions of the concept of thinking within the same generic component will differ on the basis of essential specific characteristics. As a result, the hypothesis about the impossibility of interpreting the concept of «thinking», set out in the psychological dictionary, has been clarified. We believe that this hypothesis is correct only if the concept of thinking is interpreted in a generic form.
