Abstract
본 연구는 대통령선거 후보자 TV토론회에 나타난 영상 샷 구성의 특성을 분석한다. 구체적으로 후보자 TV토론회 샷이 양적으로 어떤 특성을 보이는지, 토론회 포맷에 따른 샷 구성은 어떤 특성을 보이는지 연구한다. 한국 2017년 대통령선거 TV토론회와 미국 2016년 대통령선거 TV토론회 샷을 분석대상으로 삼았다. 분석결과, 샷의 빈도와 유형에 있어서 토론회 간 양적 차이가 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 포맷에 따른 카메라 워킹과 샷의 차이에서 오는 영상 이미지에도 차이가 존재하는 것으로 확인된다. 후보들 간 토론의 비중이나 토론의 긴장감과 상관없이 일대일 샷을 모든 후보에게 획일적으로 동일한 횟수를 부여한다는 것은 역동성을 떨어뜨리는 요인이다. 공정성을 해칠 정도가 아니라면 유연성 있는 샷 구성을 허용하고, 방송사가 자율성을 갖고 샷을 구성할 수 있도록 하는 것이 필요하다.
