Abstract

The article examines the role and significance of values in linguistics proceeding from the fact that language reflects values in culture. Value analysis of language reveals a wide range of possibilities for the study of national linguistic consciousness through the formation of the model of linguistic identity. Language as a cultural phenomenon, directly or indirectly reflects values which are currently preserved in a given society and culture. Moreover, the language is constantly connected with culture and thoughts, which form in the native speaker the system of values, morality and behavior typical of a given socio-cultural community.
