Abstract

The article analyzes and comments on the thoughts and positions of the publication of the American author Gregory Shaw: "Taking the Shape of Gods. A Theurgic Reading of Hermetic Rebirth" by Gregory Shaw. The continuing interest in the works of Hermes Trismegistus is explained by a certain decline in the level of intellectual activity of the West and the desire to increase it through in-depth study of the ideas of the ancient Egyptian sage. Just as the West's familiarity with his books once gave rise to the Renaissance. These circumstances motivate the turn to the study of the Eastern philosophical heritage, and in particular, to the analysis of the social orders of ancient Egypt.
