Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of leisure-time physical activities(LTPA) on exercise attitudes and successful aging to participate in the rural elderly women. To test the effectiveness of LTPA, we assigned elderly women into either experimental group(n=23) or control group(n=21). Then, we provided LTPA for elderly women in the experimental group, while we did not provide them in the control group. We adopted three-time assessments (at the beginning, at the middle, and at the end) and used repeated-measure ANOVAs in order to examine the experimentally-based longitudinal effect of LTPA on exercise attitude and successful aging variables outcomes. The result showed that elderly women in the experimental group perceived higher level of exercise attitude and successful aging variables than those in the control group. In conclusion, we found that LTPA increased positive beliefs(exercise attitude, successful aging) among elderly women in Rural Area.
