Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate how employees perceived lookism-oriented employment which involves the concept of ‘beauty-oriented Korean culture’, ‘physical related’, ‘appearance related’, ‘Korean legislation’, ‘appearance-oriented employment environment’ and how it influenced organizational effectiveness by applying procedure justice and interactional justice and employing the SEM(Structural Equation Modeling) approach. The survey was conducted from September 2nd to the 30<SUP>th</SUP> of 2019, and a total number of 315 responses who were working at hotels in Seoul and Busan were used for the final analysis. The results of this study demonstrated that the ‘beauty oriented’, ‘physical related’, ‘appearance related’, ‘Korean legislation’, ‘appearance-oriented employment environment’ had a positive influence on interactional justice in hotel companies. This study found that hotel provides the training opportunity to managers to refrain from mentioning the issue of appearance related in the aspect of improving organizational effectiveness.
