Abstract

In order to reveal the completeness of the literary process of a certain epoch, not only the researches of literary critics, but also writers’ non-artistic texts, which reveal their views on literature expressing attitudes to the phenomena and trends of literary development are essential. Kuzma Chorny, the classic of Belarusian literature, left many texts of different genres, which belonged to non-artistic heritage and in which his views on the literary process of that time were expressed. In his texts (autobiographies, articles) Chorny draws attention to the social status of the writer and conditions of his work. He gives the utmost importance to the artistic aspects of literary art as well as to the linguistic and stylistic expressiveness of a literary work.
