Abstract

Korea has officially joined the Food Assistance Convention (FAC) in 2018. Four countries (Yemen, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda) that have been suffering from a food crisis due to frequent wars, conflicts, and natural disasters caused by climate change are selected for food assistance projects. The purpose of this article is to analyse a case of food aid project supported by Korea through the World Food Program (WFP), an international organization specialized in agriculture and food relief projects. It analyses the current state of food security and WFP strategy of the targeted countries, and aims to suggest policy on project performance management in terms of monitoring and performance evaluation. In the context of humanitarian assistance, food aid activities aim to end hunger and improve nutrition, but as a grant aid project, rigorous plans are needed to manage the performance of the project.
