Abstract
On September 17, 2007 celebrated the anniversary by Katherine Raczkovskaya — known geobotanist, botanical geographer, cartographer, specialist in the study of vegetation of arid regions, doctor of biological sciences. E. I. is one of the best connoisseurs of vegetation of the steppes and deserts of Asia. Her expedition routes cover vast areas of the inner part of Eurasian continent: Kazakhstan, Middle Asia, Mongolia, China. The scientific interests of E. I. manifold —structure of vegetation, mapping and zoning of vegetation, botanical geography, ecology, etc.
