Abstract
The article is dedicated to the memory of Valeriy Mikhailovich Yubko, Honored Geologist of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, an outstanding specialist in the field of marine geological and geophysical research and the geology of oceanic solid minerals – ferromanganese nodules and cobalt-rich ferromanganese crusts of the World Ocean, who headed the geological service for 15 years State Scientific Center JSC (until 2016 FGUGP) “Yuzhmorgeology”, and in recent years acting as the Scientific Secretary of the State Scientific Center. The article presents biographical data, highlights the scientific achievements and personal qualities of V. M. Yubko.
