Abstract

The current state of development of the concept of “risk”, the structure of psychological readiness for risk and the description of its components are analyzed. Psychological readiness for the risk of the military personnel of the National Guard of Ukraine can be defined as the ability of a person to attract all his potential (personal characteristics, knowledge, skills and abilities), internal and external resources in order to achieve the planned plan of action in previously unknown circumstances. On the basis of semantic differential data and mathematical apparatus of factor analysis, it is determined that psychological readiness for risk of military personnel of the National Guard of Ukraine consists of four components: “willpower”, “military sociability”, “professional identity”, “self-control (endurance) ”.“Willpower” means the ability of a person to mobilize his resources quickly. This component includes qualities that characterize the emotional-volitional sphere of personality and determine the ability to mobilize quickly in difficult situations, the ability to focus attention and strength on the task, the ability to master and regulate their emotional state and reactions to external and internal stimuli, self-control manifestation of other volitional qualities.“Military sociability” determines the presence of military personnel of sufficiently formed personal qualities that regulate social relations and influence the reduction of social tension of members of the military personnel, contribute to the formation of social relations, openness and trust, mutual respect, mutual assistance.Professional identity” provides the desire to hold on to the values of its social group (patriotism, law-abiding nature and professional dignity) and are motivational resources for maintaining effective activity in risky conditions. “Self-control (endurance)” defines qualities such as discipline and organization, conscientiousness in the performance of official tasks, honesty, responsibility, reasonable initiative and prudence.
