Abstract

The Korean-Japanese armor excavated during the Three Kingdoms Period and the Kofun Period has been an important discussion in terms of the spread and distribution of technology. Among them, the background and meaning of the appearance of the Korean Peninsula, including the issue of the place of production, are actively taking place around the Japanese armors, which is identified on the Korean Peninsula. However, the Japanese armors excavated from the Korean Peninsula are mainly analyzed for horizontal plate armor. However, a comprehensive analysis is needed on the Korean Peninsula, as scale armors have not only plate armor but also, it is necessary to analyze them comprehensively. In addition, since the research so far has focused on discussing the production area and reviewing the structure, a new review is needed based on newly accumulated data. At that time, Japan accepted the manufacturing technology of various items, including armor, to various countries on the Korean Peninsula. In terms of ancient Korea-Japan negotiations, armor is an item equipped with various technologies and occupies an important position than other items. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss what similarities and differences are in terms of accepting, producing, and utilizing the technology of the Korean Peninsula, and what its meaning is. For this purpose, this paper attempted to examine the meaning of the Japanese armors(scale armors and plate armor) excavated from the Korean Peninsula by period. In addition, from a new perspective of production, use (utilization), and disposal (store), the characteristics of Armor5s prestige items were reviewed. As the above-mentioned product is conducted in a receiving relationship between the giving side and the receiving side, it is difficult to determine the meaning and background of the buried person who buried the horizontal plate armor through the current research results, so a close study is needed in the future.
