Abstract

Commercial banks are one of the key attributes of a highly developed market environment and form such link in the economic system that significantly affects the level of production efficiency. The purpose of the article is to analyze the activity of systemic commercial banks for the formation of information support for the timely forecasting of prospects and trends of their development. The study is based on the use of materials from the National Bank of Ukraine, the Rurik National Rating Agency, the Financial Stability Board, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and other international financial organizations. The distribution of commercial banks of Ukraine by groups was estimated. The baskets of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision to identify the world's systemically important banks were characterized. The leaders of the global banking sector by location (country and continent) were identified. It was revealed that the location of the hundred largest banks in the world in terms of assets is closely related to the industrial, economic, financial, social and general development of the region. The location of the largest banks is a significant criterion characterizing the activities of the global banking system. The analysis of the thirty largest global systemically important banks, as well as the largest commercial banks in terms of assets and capital, was carried out. It was determined that the system elements have a positive effect inside the system, and the system-forming elements themselves become the driving force of the system. It was revealed that for the development of the infrastructure of the financial and credit market, the commercial banks are important which will form the system. In this case, these banks may not be systemic, because it will depend on the specific tasks and evaluation criteria.
