Abstract

The article is about studying the self-actualization of youth in a situation of transitivity. The results of an empirical study (n = 60) showed that the self-actualization of girls is characterized by the presence of values, creativity, orientation in time, autosympathy and sociability. For young people, autonomy, spontaneity and flexibility of communication are important in the self-actualization of personality, orientation in time and the need for cognition do not matter. They are oriented towards freedom and independence, capable of spontaneous behavior. In a situation of transitivity, girls have a high level of need for self-development, and young people do not have an established system of self-development. Statistically significant differences were found between girls and young people only on the self-actualization scales: orientation in time, the need for cognition, and also according to the need for self-development. Girls, unlike young people, have a pronounced orientation in time, i. e. the desire to live in the present, openness to new knowledge and impressions, a high level of need for self-development.
