Abstract

The hotel industry is essential to the success of the tourism industry. It provides accommodation options, generates significant revenue, creates employment opportunities, drives destination development, and plays a crucial role in branding and marketing a destination. Therefore, forecasting room sales is critical for the success of a tourist hotel. Based on the predictions, hotels can optimize their revenue management strategies, allocate resources more efficiently, plan marketing and promotional activities, budget and plan for future periods, and gain a competitive advantage. For this, this study proposed Seasonal ARIMA Model to forecast weekly room sales 1 year in advance. A comprehensive account of the model selection process and the level of accuracy achieved in forecasting are provided in this paper. The findings demonstrate that the proposed research method has achieved a high level of accuracy in forecasting. Accordingly, policymakers and hotel operations can leverage this model to make informed decisions and proactively manage potential risks in the future.
