Abstract
The purpose of the article is to identify interrelation between the level of education, spirituality of an individual and their exercise of hedonism as one of the values related to life’s purpose. Pleasure is defined as a process and result of satisfying an urgent need. Biological needs are limited by nature. Spiritual ones are formed in the process of education. Their hedonistic hierarchy corresponds to the hierarchy of values, the highest of which are the values of life’s purpose. It is possible to come to understand their objective meaning through education that forms not a “civilised consumer” but a creative individual. Scientific novelty of the study provisions, which shed light on dialectic of the education level and happiness of Homo sapiens, at the same time determines relevance of practical measures to reorient the content of the Russian education from doctrinarian algorithmisation to creativity in all its aspects.
