Abstract
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas. It is colorless, odorless and tasteless and can only be measured using special equipment. Because it is a gas, radon can move freely through the soil enabling it to enter the atmosphere. When radon surfaces in the open air, it is quickly diluted to harmless concentrations, but when it enters an enclosed space, such as a house, it can sometimes accumulate to unacceptably high concentrations. So, measurements of indoor radon are very important for escaping from radon risks. Until now, to measure the indoor radon concentration, imported radon sensors are needed. So, DB construction of indoor radon emission and popular radon measuring apparatus should be developed. In this paper, we propose the radon detecting method using PIN photodiode and CMOS image sensors. Also, we confirmed the PIN photodiode and CMOS image sensors could be used as radon sensor module through some experimental studies.
