Abstract
This article deals with the issues based on the dichotomy of language and speech, one of the topics that have been debated by linguists around the world for many years. The article discusses the results of research conducted by European and Eastern linguists on many issues, such as the relationship of language and speech, diachrony and synchrony, the fact that language is a system of systems, speech acquisition.
