Abstract

The Chinese XX-century symphonic music followed the path of intensive development - from adoption of orchestral technique to national symphony. Its developmental stages are short but they have distinctive features, which allow developing historical chronology and identifying accomplishments and qualitative changes in the dynamics of national symphonic music development. The article identifies and consistently examines the guidelines of orchestral music development towards the symphony genre, which would be in tune with national artistic thinking. The Chinese composers’ symphonic creative work was always most closely associated with social life of the country: social events, even the most dramatic, often obtained quite unusual interpretation in symphonies.
