Abstract
Display manufacturing is a major industry in Korea. The disclosure of information of the display industry is very limited including environment management with input materials and emission pollutants due to the prevention of technology leaks. Act on the integrated control of pollutant-discharging facilities in Korea is a system that manages the overall industrial process, such as materials/sub-material processes, utilities, and emission pollutants. The National Institute of Environmental Research publishes Best Available Techniques Reference Document(BREF) which helps license businesses and permit authorities BREF for the electronic component manufacturing industry includes manufacturing of displays. Every business site on the display shall transparently discharge pollutants by reflecting everything in the BREF. BAT should reflect the current use of techniques to emit less pollutants. The addition of BAT-AEL item and the review frequency of BREF need to be the further study.
