Abstract

The article analyzes the current state of Russian-Turkish relations, effective cooperation between the leaders of the two countries in all areas. The paper draws a parallel between today and two historically important events for Turkey and Russia that took place in different eras and played a decisive role in the formation of the statehood of both countries. The author concludes that economic cooperation between Turkey and Russia is mutually beneficial, and Turkey's mediation role in resolving the conflict of interests between Russia and the West is important for everyone. Nevertheless, the author presumes that it is impossible to create a full-fledged union between Turkey and Russia in the near historical perspective.
