Abstract
The authors note that the status of East Jerusalem, and especially its holy places, remains a key and very controversial issue in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the subject of heated debates. According to the Resolution of the UN General Assembly No. 181 of November 29, 1947 known as the “Resolution on the partition of Palestine”, the international community will take control of the future of Jerusalem after the end of the British mandate (May 15, 1948).

Президент США Дональд Трамп официально заявляет о признании Иерусалима столицей Израиля, и событие немедленно создаёт резонанс во всем мире. Но Шестидневная война, которая началась после провозглашения Израиля приводит к тому, что разделен был и сам Иерусалим. Что Иерусалим был объявлен столицей Израиля ещё в 1950-ом году, причем во всех документах подчеркивается, что столица Израиля «едина и неделима».
