Abstract

This study examined the effect of self-efficacy on life satisfaction for college students living in the Chungcheong area for four years. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to analyze the frequency of basic variables, correlation analysis to confirm the correlation between variables, and to analyze the effect between variables. First, it was found that life satisfaction and self-efficacy had a positive relationship with each other. Second, as a result of multiple regression analysis with control variables to examine the relationship between life satisfaction and self-efficacy of college students, the value representing the explanatory power of the regression model was 0.335 and the variables were about 33.5% of the change in life satisfaction. Self-efficacy was found to have a positive effect in a direction consistent with theoretical expectations, and was statistically significant. The beta value of self-efficacy was 0.496, and it was found to be statistically significant at the significance level 0.001. In terms of control variables, gender (beta=-0.120, p=0.016), allowance (beta=0.135, p=0.004), and academic performance (beta=0.095, p=0.047) were found to be statistically significant. Through this, it is intended to improve college students' satisfaction with school life adaptation, reduce their dropout in the middle of school, increase college students' self-esteem, and use it as basic data and develop programs that can help them pursue and get jobs in the future.
