Abstract
The Paralympic movement has deep historical roots, however, until the 20th century it is exclusively applied in nature, aimed at the rehabilitation of certain diseases. The transformation of the axiology of the Paralympic movement takes place in parallel with a similar process concerning sport as such. This trend is determined by the new socio-cultural realities that are developing in Europe in the mid-19th century. According to the authors, the emergence of Paralympic sports become a natural continuation of these trends.
