Abstract

Modern landscape architecture has gone beyond the creation of traditional garden and park spaces. Today, it has a variety of means from different fields of knowledge that allows creating parks, which meet the society’s current needs. The objective of the paper is to structure the main approaches to new parks creation and unused areas rehabilitation. The study’s topicality is ensured by the fact that gardens and parks occupy an important place in any city. Basing on the analysis of various examples, the author draws conclusions about landscape architecture possibilities in solving the problem under consideration, provides links to literary sources, and systematizes the principles of the modern park environment formation.
